Flip UltraHD Camcorder, 120 Minutes (Black) Review

I asked friends and researched the product - and bought the Ultra HD because it was easy to use, convenient, good picture quality, removable battery, etc.
Took a few videos of my boys, felt great, until I tried to charge the battery. The first few minutes appear to be fine and then a flashing red light comes on and the screen says "CHECK BATTERY PACK, CHARGING PAUSED." Turns out the battery pack wasn't charging at all, and after researching further, this appears to be a VERY COMMON problem, and it has been persisting for more than *6 MONTHS*.
I researched FLIP's customer service ratings and they are terrible, the CSRs admit this is a problem and have no solutions. Why would anyone subject themselves to this?
Maybe we'll use AA batteries. Maybe we'll return the FLIP. I am surprised AMAZON would market such poorly serviced products.
Maybe AMAZON will drop the product line. Regardless, I'm left wondering why would FLIP provide junky, hard to recharge batteries for such an extended period. Why no notice to consumers? Why has this problem persisted for 6 months?
