Unfortunately I did not heed the reviews of other customers who said the Flip batteries wouldn't last very long. The promised recording time of 2 hours IS A LIE! My battery has never lasted longer than 20 minutes and after weeks of back and forth emails with the Flip tech support, they have refused to replace the battery. Works as advertised I suppose, from a recording standpoint at least. Needs better zoom and image stabilization (might as well throw in 1080p while you're at it). Software seems to work OK and I didn't have any issues updating the Flip to the latest firmware like some have.

I picked up an a/c HDMI cable to connect to my 60" Mitsubishi tv but it doesn't work. Flip tech support assumes everyone is an idiot/joe-average user and they are more annoying than they are helpful (insisting you try things you've already tried, etc.). Having made several vidoes with this unit, I think it is good for what it is.

The flip series video cams are small, light and easy to use. you can't expect this item to perform like a far more expensive and complex item.

I like to use it to take spontaneous videos, more elaborate setups will require the use of a much better (and more expensive) item.
