Flip UltraHD Camcorder, 120 Minutes (Black) Order Now

"Flip uses a non-standard video format and few mainstream Editor/Authoring programs can be bothered trying to figure it out." - Jim Hardin, [...] forums
I bought a Flip Ultra HD just before Christmas. I loved everything about it. Now I want to get a DVD of Christmas morning to grandma who has never used a computer in her life. Flip has decided to use a native format (MP4) that is unsupported by Microsoft Movie Maker (which comes free with Vista) or other programs that I had purchased in the past to create DVDs from my digital mini-tape camcorder.
I have hit a wall. I cannot find any information on [...] on how to burn a DVD myself. With my old digital tape camcorder, this was a long process, but fairly easy to do. Instead, Flip has a "service" whereby you can pay them around $20 to get them to burn a DVD for you.
So before you buy this, if making a DVD-player compatible disc is important to you, please note that this capability is not supported by Flip. (They do not suggest a 3rd party program that CAN do it, either.)
Flip provides other options, including hooking up my laptop to the HDTV (not possible, as my PC video card is of too low resolution for my 56" HDTV) or you can move movies from your PC back to the Flip and play them direct to HDTV.
ONE STAR, Flip, for not making such an obvious application as easy as the rest of it and for not making it clear anywhere on your site or in your software that such an obvious application does not exist. One star for making zero effort to partner with a software maker to make it possible. I want to burn a DVD, not burn money paying you $20 for each home movie I want to share with grandma.Get more detail about Flip UltraHD Camcorder, 120 Minutes (Black).
